What is a Hosting AccountIn the world of websites, you have two things: domain name and your host. We can provide both for you. We will host all of your files on one of our servers so your site is served up at any time of day or night with fast speed.

Do I have to get a domain name with your company? I already have one with someone else. When you sign up for hosting, all you do is change the DNS of your existing domain name to our DNS and your domain will work. It doesn't matter where you got the domain, if you have control over it and can change the DNS, your site will work with us.

What DNS should my domain name point to? Please Reference your account activation email for this info.

I have been notified that my account has been set up but my site is still not active If you have recieved a notification email and its been over 48 hours, it means that you either did not point your domain name to the right DNS servers or your ISP's DNS server has not yet been updated. It generally takes 24 hours for domain names to become active. This is just how the internet works; there is no way we can speed up the process.

What version of perl are you running? Our servers run Perl version 5.8.5

What version of PHP are you running? Our servers use PHP version 4.3.11.

How do I enable SSI in my HTML pages? To take advantage of Server Side Includes (SSI) in your web page, make sure the web page has the extension .SHTML and not .HTML

Can I prepay for additional monthly data transfer/bandwidth? No. If you need more monthly data transfer, you need to upgrade your account. If your account exceeds its bandwidth, the rate for extra bandwidth is $2.25 per GB of bandwidth. You can buy extra GBs for the time until bandwidth resets at the end of the month. If your account still exceeds during the next month, you will need to upgrade your account.

What will happen when my site goes over the data transfer limit? Our system has the capability to block sites that exceed their data transfer limit and also to email you if bandwidth is about to be exceeded. This will be done at the owner's option of course, so you will have the choice to continue using more data transfer and pay more at the end of the month, or stop using more data transfer but no need to pay more at the end of the month.

I don't have a credit card. Can I do a wire transfer, check or money order? Yes, however if you pay by money order, the hosting plan must be prepaid for the year.

Where is the server located? The server is in South Florida in a concrete reinforced, cement block colocation facility with redundant local power feeds, Generator and UPS power backup, FM-200 Fike Cheetah fire suppression system, and Liebert Air Handlers. The facility is protected by multiple stage entry points, as well as video, and security personnel.

Do you allow MP3 files? Do you allow streaming of videos?Yes, we have no problem as long as those MP3īs and video files are legitimate. Please make sure you select the proper plan which allows it. We suggest a higher bandwidth and space plan because most likely, since you are serving MP3s and videos, they tend to be bigger files and once they are streamed they consume a lot of bandwidth.

How soon will my account be activated? If you pay with credit card the account activation is instant. If we later find your payment to be fradulent, your account will be canceled.

Can I have more than one domain pointed to my account?Yes, each hosting account supports multiple domain names. Each domain name can then point to one or multiple websites, all under the same hosting account. This allows you to have multiple websites without needing to pay for multiple hosting accounts.

Do you support subdomains?Yes, each hosting package can have subdomains.

What is a subdomain?A subdomain is any term you want before your domain. For example you have a domain www.x.com and say you want to create another webpage. You can create a subdomain another.x.com and it can be like a whole separate webpage. In essence it is a domain as well. So it is a very nice feature to have.

Do you have a control panel?Yes, you can take a look at the demo to see the large amount of features offered. You can login by going to the top of the screen, where it says "Member Login", and type demo_user for the username and demo for the password.

Do you except checks or money orders?Yes, we except both.

Where do I send the money order or cashiers check? Please send your cashiers check or money order to the following address:

Classic Web Development
4622 North 18th Street
Tacoma, WA 98406

How soon will my hosting account be created?New accounts are created within 5 minutes of the initial payment.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my hosting account?Yes, you can contact us to upgrade or downgrade your account. When upgrading or downgrading you will immediately be billed for the new hosting package. You may want to do the upgrade at the very end of your normal billing cycle so you will not be billed twice.

How can I manually setup Microsoft Outlook to check my email?

Note: yourname and yourdomain.com need to be replaced with your account information.

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook, click "Tools" in the Menu bar and go down to "Email Accounts"
  2. Check "Add a new e-mail account" and click next
  3. Check "POP3" and click next
  4. Fill in the textboxes with the following information:
  5. Your Name: whatever you want the recipient to see Email Address: Your email address (ex. yourname@yourdomain.com) Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com Username: Your email address. Except if you want to check email for your main account then it is just your username. Password: your password
  6. Click More Settings
  7. Click the tab "Outgoing Server"
  8. Check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" and check "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
  9. Click the "Advanced Tab" and check your preference on whether to "Leave a copy of messages on the server". If you want to save hard drive space on your account it is a good idea to not check that box or have the messages deleted after so many days. It just deletes the message off the server after you have downloaded it to outlook.
  10. Click "OK" and then "Test Account Settings" (you need to be on the internet) make sure everything works and then click next.
